The  history of Dandi-Ga Limited can be traced to 1988 when a small musical recording enterprise in a wooden cubicle started operating at Kojokrom in the Western region of Ghana. The company soon realized a window of opportunity and a massive potential in the sales, distribution, marketing, servicing and installation of musical instruments and their accessories in the country. Dandi-Ga was then registered as an Enterprise in 1995 to take advantage of these opportunities in the musical sector and subsequently moved to Takoradi from Kojokrom. Some of the instruments at the time were keyboards, speakers, microphones, guitars, drums etc.

The need to widen the scope of operations became very critical and also important was the business status of this organisation with enormous prospects. In 1999 Dandi-Ga became a private limited liability company registered under the Ghana Companies Code Act 179 (1963) as Dandi-Ga Limited.

From this point, the range of operations in terms of sales, distribution, servicing and installations was expanded beyond musical instruments and included public address (PA) systems, allied and relevant electrical and electronic appliances. Some of these equipments are computers, laptops, electric cables, electric generators, sales of building materials/hardware such as Iron rods, and cement distribution in the Upper East region for now. Electrical installation and wiring in commercial, industrial and government buildings, installation and extension of street lights among others are some of the core business assignments of the company.

Around this period, Dandi-Ga started spreading all over the country and currently has a strong presence in Western, Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern, Upper East and Brong Ahafo region.

Beyond Ghana, Dandi-Ga has a significant market share in Ivory Coast and wish to take on the West African sub region with a robust penetrating foreign policy being formulated at the moment.

It is important to note that the Head Office of Dandi-Ga is situated at the Dandi Plaza on the Teshie- Nungua Road, Near A-Life Junction in Accra.

The supply and installation of public address systems at the premises of most of the State Transport Corporation (STC) in the country and other significant installations on the vehicles of the National Electoral Commission (NEC) were executed by Dandi-Ga. We also have an incredible clientele base with corporate institutions, churches, mosques, musical schools and other allied outfits.

We also successfully implemented the supply of the public address systems in the parliamentary chamber of the Republic of Togo and similar projects. These and some other collaborations with corporate organisations in Ivory Coast and other West African countries typify our international pedigree and the massive opportunities for the company outside this country.

The fruits of the company can be seen in the creation of hostels and hospitality business called M-Dor-Dan, which is located on the Spintex Road in Accra. And moving forward, the company has an aggressive policy to consolidate the gains, design and implement realistic growth strategies and diversify into productive and emerging sectors of the economy.

The first area of business development is roofing sheet manufacturing in the northern part of the country that will also serve Burkina Faso, Northern Togo, Northern Ivory Coast, Mali and the other sahel countries and more who will have the need for quality and wide variety of roofing products, which the factory will be manufacturing.

The company’s bid to promote commercial farming and to boost household food security in the north and the rest of the country can be achieved through Agriculture Mechanisation services in the provision of mechanised traction (ploughing) and mechanised harvesting of rice, maize soybean and other cereals. This outfit will also be involved in the assembling, sales, distribution, marketing and servicing of agriculture mechanisation equipments such as tractors, combine harvesters and their accessories.

Fuel transportation is another strategic option that the company will possibly invest in to meet the growing fuel needs of the country. Plans are far advanced to collaborate with a tank truck (tanker) manufacturing company to execute this deal abroad and will soon test the internal requirements for this business.

The company has sealed a deal with Melcom and has acquired the franchise to become the accredited dealer in Melcom products in the Upper East region and will seek to extend this partnership to the Upper West region in future. The regional accredited outlet in the Upper East region will be located in Sandema.

In the case of Dandi-Ga, a comprehensive Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) will be executed, which will lead to corporate restructuring with special emphasis on human resource management and development, financial management and control thus streamlining the entire corporate system. This is meant to reposition the company in order to give it a renewed strategic direction, enhance productivity, and boost value creation and profitability.
